3.My Native Village

My village Panchami lies in the eastern part of my country. It is on the bank of the Arun river. It is a big village with nearly 500 families. The village is occupied with nearly five thousand people. The density of population is normally uniform. The total population consists of various social groups but unity in diversity is completely practised here. People are used to sharing their sorrows and happiness. Most of the buildings are traditional; they are made of mud and stones with thatched roofs. The buildings are almost hidden by the fruit trees. The roofs seem to be covered with creepers  of vegetables.
There is a high school at the centre of the village. Each ward has a primary school. Normally 50% of the population is occupied with literate and educated people. Most of the people depend on agriculture; some are teachers and officials though. In the past, people used to trek along the foot trails but now a fine tarred road has been built. Electricity facility has just been provided to each of the houses. A small market has been established to supply the daily needs to the people. All the bouses are supplied with clean drinking water. Although more people are uneducated, they are progressive in their opinion and behaviour. Our village has not got polluted, that's why I'm extremely happy. May the god empower us to save my native place!
Someone can enjoy the natural beauty and wonders if he comes to my place. The jungle of my village is safe although population is increasing every year. There is a mountain peak called "Batase Danda' from which we can see many places and some peaks of the Himalayas. A cave named 'Tiger Gupha' is one of the wonders. If someone goes into it and moves ahead regularly, after about two hours he will reach the end of the cave at the next bottom of the hill.
At the centre of the village, there is a historical place where the "Kiranti' king used to live in the ancient time. Numerous feasts and festivals belonging to different social groups are celebrated throughout the year, but everyone enjoys all of them together. We can see unity in diversity.

I feel that my village is really beautiful. Most of the people seem to be true patriots . I feel proud of being a citizen of my village.
