The Rivers in Nepal
Any mountainous country Nepal is rich in water resources Some of them are the rushing torrents lakes, rivers, springs and underground water resources. Among them, the rivers play the most important role in Nepal. Most of them rise from big lakes or mountains. They flow through mountains, rocks and plains
The major rivers in Nepal are Mechi, Koshi, Bagmati Narayani, Gandaki, Kamali, Mahakali and others. The Koshi in the eastern part of Nepal is the largest, the Narayani is the deepest and The Kamali is the ingest rivers in Nepal. All these rivers rise from mountains. These rivers are very clean but the Bagmati in Kathmands is highly polluted. The amount of the water in all the rivers during dry seasons slightly way decreases but in the rainy season, the water level gets increased. Each big river has several tributaries.
All the rivers in Nepal play a vital role in the development of the country. We have produced bydro-electricity in many places using the water of the rivers. Similarly, they are very important sa iigute our firm. The water of them can be used for cooking, drinking and washing. They are also useful for transportation and entertainment. Nowadays, many poole enjoy rafting in our rivers. They are also the regional and other boundaries for political and administrative purposes. Thus the rivers in Nepal have many advantages and uses for us.
Some people say that the rivers in Nepal during rainy season are very dangers. They are often over-flooded and destroy the fields and houses of their banks. Many people are killed by the flood in Nepal. Many fertile field have been swept away. They also cause the landslides when they are over Booded
Specially the rivers which flow through or near the cities are getting polluted. They must be preserved. Nowadays, the Bagmati and the Bishnumati in Kathmanda are extremely polluted. They are no more rivers now; rather they seem to be drainages. We can preserve such rivers by making drains along the banks of them. We should not throw any parhages and dirts on the banks of them.
We have not utilized our rivers appropriately yet. We can be the richest people in the world if we utilize them aptly. We have to preserve them at any cost if they are getting polluted. It can be said that the rivers in Nepal are the fortune of the country.
